Maciver Consultancy Services Ltd has been involved in the preparation of flood risk assessments for both river and coastal sites. On the Allt na Broige river MCS Ltd worked in conjunction with Wallingford Hyrdosolutions to establish the 1 in 200 year flood return level for a proposed housing scheme.
For coastal flood risk assessments MCS Ltd carries out a topographical survey of the site and having established the levels relative to 
Ordnance datum a statistical analysis is carried out to identify the 1 in 200 year still water level at the site. This is compared to the SEPA document for coastal locations around the United Kingdom. In addition other factors such as wave height are considered and calculations are undertaken as appropriate.
